• Calendar of Services is posted through December 31, 2011 to provide information on which solid waste services will be provided what day or week.
• Household Trash is picked up once per week - date is dependant on the Zone you live in.
• Heavy Trash Pick-Up: This new service offered by the Town through Ray's Trash Service began the week of May 10, 2010 - dependant on your zone.  There will be monthly pick-up of large items such as furniture, appliances (without Freon), and other household goods will be accepted.

Residents are limited to one heavy item per month, such as a couch or non-Freon appliances. A side benefit is that communities that offer the heavy trash pick-up have fewer problems with illegal dumping.

Republic will continue to provide residential recycling services with a big difference. The Town will begin using automated service with 95-gallon, wheeled, lidded containers. The containers are very user-friendly and have been shown to substantially increase recycling participation. Also, since the new bins are lidded, it will reduce unsightly neighborhood debris caused when recyclables are blown or fall out of the existing containers. The current weekly recycling program will have a final pick-up on Tuesday, April 27th. Your new 95-gallon recycling bin will be delivered that same week (the week of April 26th) along with instructions, a full list of recyclable materials and additional information. The first bi-weekly pick-up with the new bin will be Tuesday, May 4th. The same materials that you now recycle can be recycled with the new bin, including cardboard, plastics, paper, cans, glass and more.

Yard Waste

The Town will continue to offer the weekly yard waste program, again depending on the zone you live in. The yard waste program is for clippings, brush and related yard waste. Please cut limbs into 3-foot sections and tie together or place in paper bags or reusable containers that are clearly marked YARD WASTE. The yard waste program runs from early April through December 9th.
